Issue 135 — 26th June 2026

Congratulations to host nation Mexico on the opening ceremony of the World Cup and on securing a win in the opening game. I hope that all those who follow the tournament will enjoy the matches and the spirit of the event.

As we move into the final two weeks of the academic year, I hope you will join me in reflecting on a successful year in which the school has continued to go from strength to strength. The spirit, cohesion and can-do attitude of our community are truly inspirational and motivate us all to give our very best in providing outstanding opportunities for our students. I have always believed that exceptional education is built on positive relationships between the school, parents and students, and at Greengates those relationships can be seen flourishing across every area of the school, every day of the year. My sincere thanks to everyone for making these relationships such a powerful strength of our community.

Excitement is mounting for the Primary production of “The Wizard of Oz”, which will be staged next Friday 19th June at 5:00 pm. The team have worked hard over many months to bring the production to the stage, and we are all looking forward to seeing the results of their work. “Break a leg”, as we say, to all involved.

Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

This week, I have been privileged to witness wonderful celebrations of learning across the school, with moments that truly bring our vision to life.

In Primary, our Exit Points have beautifully showcased the depth of learning taking place. In Nursery, students have explored the universe through their Blast Off theme, while Reception’s Imagine That focused on art. Across both, we saw impressive examples of deep learning, where curiosity, creativity, and understanding come together. From planets and space to artistic expression, our youngest students demonstrated their ability to connect ideas and communicate their thinking in meaningful ways.

We also proudly celebrated our National Programme students completing Primary (Year 7) and Secondary (Year 10). These milestones recognise not only academic achievement but also the richness of a multicultural education. Our students embody a powerful blend of global perspective and the cultural depth of Mexico and Latin America.

At the same time, our Year 12 students marked their CAS journey, showcasing some of their inspiring projects, including the installation of solar panels within the school: learning translated into meaningful action.

These examples reflect our vision in action, showing how, week by week, we are shaping creative, resilient global citizens ready to change the world for the better.
